Dan Beaupré, Founder and Principal
Dan's devoted his entire career to creating transformative educational experiences. Fortifying and inspiring young people (of all ages!) to be better planetary stewards is what excites him most.
Before founding One Giant Leap, Dan served as Vice President of Experiences at the National Geographic Society. He led the National Geographic Bee, the Society's annual geography competition for 2.6 million students. He created the Giant Maps program, which brings gym-sized maps to schools in the United States and abroad; the National Geographic Explorers Camp; and the GeoChallenge. In his twenty year tenure, he also oversaw National Geographic Live student matinees, Citizen Science programs, the JASON Project, and Explorer Classroom.
Early in his career, Dan taught and designed curriculum at the Gailer School in Middlebury, VT. He also ran Education Quests, LLC, providing educational interactives for PBS programming, including "NOVA," "Frontline" and feature documentaries. He's the recipient of awards and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Danish- American Fulbright Commission, and the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation. In 1998, he received the Distinguished Teacher Award from the White House. Dan has served on the National Parks Service Education Advisory Board, and boards of Kids4Peace, the National Scenic Visitors Center, and Girls Can Do. He has a B.A. in History from the University of Vermont and a M.Ed. from Harvard University.

Tom has been at the leading edge of new technology in storytelling for four decades. A multi-Emmy winner, he most recently won for his groundbreaking work on ESPN’s E:60. In 2017, he was nominated for producing College Gameday's "Jacob Jarvis: Why it Matters,"ESPN's first narrative VR experience. In 2013, he was awarded the Lumiere for the industry’s first 4K documentary production. Before starting his production company, Percolate Digital, he was Creative Director at the Associated Press Broadcast Center, and ushered in the first online news graphics library: GraphicsBank.
Matt Kambic
Producer, Designer, Illustrator
Matt is co-Founder of the National Scenic Visitors Center and Earthwalk U.S.A. He has worked for several decades as a creative professional. His client portfolio includes projects for Disney, the National Robotics Engineering Center, Carnegie Mellon University, The Magic Woods TV program, Robomatter, and Kennywood Amusement Park. He has served in roles as producer, writer, designer, filmmaker, educator, illustrator and musician. Matt is a cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He is an Eagle Scout, an avid outdoors person, and profound appreciator of maps. Matt currently resides in New Zealand.
Mary Ellen Snyder
Co-Founder National Scenic Visitors Center
Mary Ellen is co-founder of Earthwalk U.S.A. and the National Scenic Visitors Center. She serves as Executive Director of the organization.
Her AT&T career included serving as National Account Manager, leading teams through an international Oracle implementation, and managing the Enterprise Project Management team at Agere. Mary Ellen attended Brown University and Indiana University. A passionate environmentalist, she initiated several successful public service projects to preserve or restore natural resources in Illinois and Pennsylvania, and received the AT&T Environmental Award.
